Jason Terry's 3-Pointer
There was some controversy on this prop last night:

NBA (Mavericks @ Boston): Will a 3-POINT basket be MADE in the LAST 2 MINUTES of the 3rd Quarter?

So we went to the review booth and as seen below it is clear that Terry's 3 went in the basket at the 2:02 mark and the prop was scored correctly. We're also aware that the NBA's play-by-play feed lists the basket being made at the 1:59 mark, but all we can say about that is it is simply incorrect.

2011 Goes Out In Style As Top-25 Upset Decides Victor

What a year in Streak For The Cash! We had a $450,000 Stash winner, and gave out numerous cash prizes. December '11 finished with a bang as Kenny N. from Rohnert Park, CA won the $100,000 prize when Indiana upset #2 Ohio State in basketball. His W25 finished in a tie with two others due to the upset, but the tiebreaker favored him because his entry had the better win percentage. Several users made a late run at the money, but all fell just short in the last few days of the year 2011.

On the "Most Wins" side, congrats to swamp1010 from Beloit, WI whose 111 total wins was good for the $2,500 prize.

Streak For The Cash will return for the year 2012 as we turn the calendar. Thank you to all for playing, and get ready for more wild finishes, fun stunt days and much more in 2012. Happy New Year!!

Christmas Day Stunt Decided On Missed 3-Pointers

The NBA was back on Christmas and so was an intense day in the life of many Streakers. With 21 matchups for five NBA games, the eyes needed to be glued to the TVs in order to not miss any picks. When the dust settled on the first 20 props, there were three still alive for the $5,000 prize (each had a W16). With the final prop asking for a 3-pointer to be made or not in the final 2 minutes of the 2nd quarter between the Clippers and Warriors, each of the three chose a different option. One took yes, one took no and unfortunately, the other did not submit a pick, eliminating himself from the competition. The tension rose when the 2 minute mark hit and began ticking toward zero. A couple of attempts were put up, but clanked easily off the rim. One final try in the last 30 seconds fell off and allowed K. Bredy (Alberta, Canada) to take home the winnings with a W17. Thank you to all Streakers who played, and join us in 2012 as Streak for the Cash returns for another year of triumphs and heartaches.

Stash Winner Cruises To Easy Victory

November was full of numerous opportunites to build a lengthy streak with the Breeders Cup and College Tip-Off Marathon. In the end, our winner, Mark M., put together a dominating month with a W28. Half of his picks came from college basketball, and he reached the pinnacle of his run when Duke defeated Kansas on November 23. There was little competition as the next closest streak was 24, which was accomplished by five individuals.

Since the Stash was won in November by rule there is no threshold to reach (aka W27) in December. This means that the entry with the longest streak in December wins $100,000. 'Tis the season to be picking!

The Most Wins for the month of November was B. Herzog, who had a record 124 wins, which earned him $2,500. The 124 wins outdistanced our runner-up, who finished with 119 victories.

Tip-Off Marathon Decided In Waning Minutes

After a long day full of college basketball, the $5,000 prize for the Tip-Off Marathon Stunt was decided in a few minutes. Matt C. (Melbourne, FL) extended his streak to 14 wins when Kansas and Kentucky scored 37 points or fewer in the first ten minutes of the 2nd half (they combined for 35). Two other streakers had a streak of 14 in a row, but lost on the tiebreaker of best active win streak, which our winner had at 15 straight.

With the stunt day being decided on the final prop of the night, it's safe to say the event was a success. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Rough October comes to an end with $50K decided by tiebreaker
The Stash had fallen in back-to-back months, but October put an end to that and was just plain unkind to streakers with 21 being the longest streak. Our winner, Tony W., reached 21 straight wins on October 27th when Virginia pulled out a victory over Miami (FL), making his pick of Any Other Result (Miami Wins by 15+ Points was the other option) the eventual winner. It was not over at that point though, even though he owned the tiebreaker with his win percentage. The month was basically decided when the closest streaker in the chase (100K, large bills please) saw the Carolina Panthers lose to the Minnesota Vikings on a missed 31-yard field goal attempt that would have forced overtime. Two streakers at 16 had a slim chance on Halloween, but both were perhaps spooked at the idea of winning the $50K (Little Halloween pun there) and missed out on the first two picks of the day, making it impossible to catch the leader.

Since the Stash was not reached in October, it will roll over to November. This means if W27 is reached in November, the winner will take home $150,000!

The Most Wins for the month of October was S. Klaas, who had 92 wins and won by having the best winning percentage, which earned him $2,500.

The Stash falls again in September
After another memorable finish, our winner Mark.B won the stash with a streak of 27 after a women's national team win over Canada on the 22nd. The charging competition (wejes3) got unlucky when Game 1 of the ALDS between the Yankees and Tigers was rained out.

On the Most Wins side, Cheryl.G from Richmond Hill, Canada totaled 99 wins, good for $2,500.

Since the Stash was reached in September, the stash starts over once again. This means if W27 is reached in October, the winner will take home $100,000! Let's do it again.
